Doubt : There is no benefit from the verse about the winds driving ships due to the invention of the engine

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful

And of His signs are the ships in the sea, like mountains. * If He willed, He could still the wind, and they would remain motionless on its surface. Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

(Ash-Shuraa - Verse 32)

Does verse 33 of Surah Ash-Shu'ara not suit our time?

The atheists said: In the past, boats and ships sailed with sails, and if there was wind, it would push the sail, and if there was no wind, they would stop. This was a sign of God's signs in the past. But today, it is no longer effective because ships now run on engines.

Now let's talk about something a bit scientific that those studying in middle school would know.

The winds that occur are air currents, and it is known in physics: what has a lower density rises, and what has a higher density descends.

The hot air near the ground has a lower density, so it rises, and the air above is cold, so it descends.

Winds are formed due to differences in atmospheric pressure, where air moves from high-pressure areas to low-pressure areas, and these winds used to sail ships.

So let's say something simple: If it weren't for those movements and fluctuations in the atmosphere, the winds would have remained still and wouldn't have moved.

And what will happen in this case?

If I breathe some oxygen and the air remains still, the oxygen around me will deplete, and I will suffocate and die.

So God moves the air around us everywhere until the oxygen from the trees reaches us and We can breathe. If there were no movement of air, the oxygen around us would run out.

Didn't we learn long ago that any combustion process requires oxygen? So, if we want to extinguish a sulfur fire, we deprive it of oxygen.

The same goes for a car engine, for example. If you put your hand on the carburetor while the car is running, you will suffocate the engine because you are preventing oxygen from entering the piston chamber where the combustion process occurs when the spark plug ignites the gasoline, and the engine will shut off.

We don't want to go into more details, but the principle is that if oxygen is denied to the engine, it won't work.

As for the ships at sea, if oxygen is cut off from their engines, they will also stop.

And where does this oxygen come from? It comes from the movement of air.

And because if the engine consumes the oxygen in the space and area around it without the air moving to bring it more oxygen, it will ( remain stagnant on its surface ).

And God knows best.
